I am a Boston Qualifier

I did the best I could yesterday and I ran a smart, strong race.

Stomach cramps started early on.

But not until Mile 18 did I make my first pit stop.
Then again at Mile 21.
It was hot and it was hilly.  Parts of the course were miserable.
I kept going though and I never gave up.
My slowest mile was done in 8:35.
My last mile was my fastest in 7:32.
Official Time: 3:34:46

Thank you to everyone for all of your support and encouragement!

Full recap coming soon.

  1. Wow, way to go! Even with cramps and bathroom breaks — impressive! Looking forward to a recap, after you've taken some time to recover, of course. 🙂

  2. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!! Funny story – my stomach was awful on my first BQ too! I had to stop four times but I never quit. GREAT JOB not giving up. You should be super proud of your accomplishment. HUGS!!!

  3. Jess, this post just brought me to tears. I cannot express how proud I am of you big sis! You accomplished something amazing yesterday, something that, even as a fellow runner, is beyond my wildest dreams. I watched you cross the finish line and my heart grew. I don't know if I have ever said this, but I look up to you in so many ways. Each day over the last year I have watched you grow more and more with your running. Your determination, your focus, your drive, your positive energy…it is all so inspiring. I am so proud to call you my friend, my sister, and now a BQer! You have my word…I will be in Boston to cheer you on! I love you!

  4. Yes, you are!!! The title of this post made me SO HAPPY for you! Next year will be my first Boston too! 🙂
